Eligibility Requirements

Admittance into KU PREP is competitive. U.S. citizens or legal residents who have received a bachelor's degree within the last three years are eligible to apply. Students who are accepted into the program must intend to apply to graduate program the sciences and have a serious interest in a career in biomedical research.

Deadline

The application period for Fall 2014 is now closed. To inquire about the status of your application, please contact the PREP program coordinator.

Instructions

You may apply online here or download the application as a PDF file.

A complete application includes the following items:

  1. A completed application form
  2. A personal statement
  3. Unofficial Transcript (an official copy of your final undergraduate transcript is required only upon selection into the program)
  4. Two letters of recommendation

 

Your personal statement should address the following questions:

  1. What are your career goals?
  2. How have previous experiences shaped your future career path?
  3. What area of research are you most interested in?
  4. Is there a specific faculty member at KU with whom you would be interested in working?
  5. How will you benefit from participation in PREP?
  6. How will your participation benefit KU PREP and the scientific community?
